Steps to Peace: After
Vacation Bible School in Camden City

Bridge of Peace Community Church's Vacation Bible School this year taught on a topic important to Camden City and to other places like it. "Steps to Peace/STOP THE VIOLENCE!" People of Bridge of Peace have been profoundly affected by local violence lately, and in this episode we try to paint an "after" picture by recording on the last day of the VBS week. Included: We got the kids to talk to us more this time, so this episode has a higher proportion of interviews.

Extra:  Just before the recording day Friday, LNR received word that Bridge of Peace would invite VBS participants at the conclusion of the program to join the church's neighborhood in a candlelight vigil and walk "to take back the streets" in memory of John McCrae, a 20-year-old rapper from Fairview who was gunned down in Yorkship Square. This happens at a time when the square has undergone a lustrous $2 million renovation; the murder moved the city to postpone the square's rededication.
