The New Jersey Regional Coalition, a statewide coalition of community leaders and clergy, converged on the State House on March 15 to find out why action has not been taken on moral issues critical to its members and why the League of Municipalities is opposing key aspects of its fairness agenda. It was a complex day of civic action, but fortunately for our editor, the Coalition gave us a simple task, to record the meeting with Bill Dressel, the League's executive director and former chief lobbyist. The Coalition in this meeting challenged Mr Dressel about Regional Contribution Agreements, the "segregationalist" policy by which one town can shift its affordable housing obligation onto another.
Note:
The League of Women Voters of New Jersey, whose building is mentioned as the location for the meeting, was not notified of the recording for this broadcast, so they were and are in no way involved in it.
