Long-time LNR regular Ken Heard returns with material recorded at Brandywine Peace Community events:
- Peter Pedemonti, co-director of the New Sanctuary Movement of Philadelphia, is a community member of the House of Grace Catholic Worker. The House of Grace operates a free medical clinic and house of hospitality in Kensington, and it works on issues of peace and justice. The speech excerpt here comes from a program that was billed as something that "will separate the reality of immigration and
the rising tide of arrests and deportations from the anti-immigrant rhetoric of fear and hatred."
- Father John McNamee, much-revered urban priest,
author, poet, and activist. Author of the book Diary of a City Priest (and the subject of the movie of the same name) and a number of volumes of poetry. Recently retired after twenty-five years as pastor of St Malachy's Roman Catholic Church in North Philadelphia. In this excerpt he introduces and reads an excellent poem.
